My journey into sports journalism
I have been obsessed with sport and storytelling from a young age. Having kicked a football from the moment I could walk, the sport was always on in my household. After completing my undergraduate degree in History at Sheffield Hallam University, I wanted to apply the rigorous analytical and writing skills I had built into a new, fast-paced environment. Completing my MA in Sports Journalism allowed me to hone skills in broadcast presenting, shorthand, and audio visual production, alongside covering live matches, press conferences, and media days.
Versatile reporting across every medium
Whether tackling long-form investigative analysis or creating punchy video content for social channels, I pride myself on adapting to any brief. For Birkenhead News, I produced an in-depth feature tracking Tranmere Rovers' summer transfer window, demanding extensive sourcing and statistical context. From opinion-driven columns and documentary filmmaking to interviewing esteemed professionals, I can bring editorial judgment, energetic presentation, and newsroom-ready writing.
Life beyond the press box
Outside of sports media, you will likely find me with a guitar in hand. I taught myself to play in 2020 and now regularly record and share acoustic covers on social media. I also stay active on the pitch playing 11-a-side football whenever possible, and recently developed a passion for golf. While my handicap remains a work in progress, competitive sport remains central to everything I do.
